
Mobiel betalen, hoe ziet het landschap er in de toekomst uit en welke partij neemt welke rol? In het Westen is men er nog niet uit. In China slaat de grootste operator van de wereld, China Mobile, spijkers met koppen.
China Mobile neemt gewoon een financieel belang in een bank, de Shanghai Pudong Development Bank (Google Translate).
De Wall Street Journal schrijft:
“(…) China Mobile has long eyed developing its mobile-payment services. “In our push into the mobile e-commerce business, we need to cooperate with banks,” Mr. Wang told reporters during a teleconference Wednesday. “Shanghai Pudong Development Bank has the scale that is right for us, and their current share price is also reasonable.” (…)
Local securities house Guotai Junan Securities said in a note last week that Shanghai Pudong Development Bank planned to sell 40 billion yuan ($5.86 billion) worth of new shares, representing about 20% of its enlarged capital, to China Mobile in a share placement. (…)”
